HEx Lab Mentors & Collaborators

The Healthcare Experience (HEx) Lab is dedicated to innovations that improve the experiences of people with disease, particularly those facing serious illnesses. The lab is home to a collaborative and interdisciplinary team of scientists, physicians, and trainees who are passionate about advancing patient care and understanding the complexities of healthcare experiences. From developing interventions that enhance communication between patients and clinicians to running comparative effectiveness trials, the HEx Lab sits at the exciting intersection of research and clinical practice.

Becoming a HEx Lab Scholar

Joining the Healthcare Experience (HEx) Lab as a scholar is an incredible opportunity to participate in groundbreaking research and clinical innovation. As a HEx Lab Scholar, you’ll work alongside a multidisciplinary team, contribute to impactful projects, and benefit from personalized mentorship from experts in the field.

HEx Lab Meetings

We hold regular HEx Lab meetings. Meetings are informal, engaging, and designed to foster curiosity and innovation. Scholars are encouraged to attend whenever possible to stay engaged with the lab’s exciting updates. These gatherings are open to all HEx Lab Scholars, HEx Lab Collaborators, and HEx Lab Investigators and HEx Lab Core Team. We provide a space to:

(1) Discuss ongoing research projects

(2) Share updates and receive feedback on your work

(3) Learn from guest speakers and interdisciplinary team members.

Annual Exciting Events

The HEx Lab loves to celebrate progress and innovation! Each year, we host several exciting events that bring our community together, including:

(2) Annual HEx Lab Meeting- Holiday Party Edition

(3) Annual HEx Lab Meeting- HEx Birthday Edition

HEx Bee Appreciation

Each month, we host the HEx Bee Appreciation, where we honor one HEx Lab member who has gone above and beyond in their contributions to the lab. Whether it’s a scholar who made significant progress on a project, a collaborator who brought new ideas, or a team member who exemplified outstanding mentorship, the HEx Bee Appreciation is our way of saying “thank you” for your exceptional efforts!

HEx Headquarters (HQ)

The HEx Lab Headquarters, aka HEx HQ, is located at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center, in a space designed to promote collaboration and innovation. HEx HQ serves as a hub for creativity, connection, and productivity.
